This week’s episode takes a very candid look at the topic of faith and being gay. Jeff Carl and I share very similar backgrounds growing up in the church, being taught that homosexuality was wrong, yet trying to discover our own identities as gay men and reconcile that with our faith. Through our honest and unfiltered conversation (oh we went there, people) - we discuss our own upbringings, the struggle of keeping a secret, our coming-out stories, and the role faith plays in each of our lives today.
Some of you have never heard this part of our story. We each reopened some feelings and emotions we had packed away. But you’ll see how we have learned so much through the process and have come out on the other side much stronger and more confident in who we are as human beings. I believe it’s an important conversation for gay people, their family and friends, for the church, and for anyone who wants to know what it’s like going through the process. By the end of the episode, I hope you’ll find the same encouragement and valuable lessons that we did.
