Meekness is not synonymous with weakness, fear, or cravenness. It is actually a virtue of strength, of being kind and compassionate in the face of evil and choosing graciousness and gentleness instead of responding in kind. We can be meek because we have God’s promises to stand on, and so we do not have to fear or be anxious about the future.
