Casper Ruud's 2023 season finally feels as though it got underway on Sunday, after arguably his best performance of the year against "blazing" Miomir Kecmanovic in the Estoril Open final.

It was a bad day all round for Kecmanovic as he also lost the doubles final alongside fellow Serb Nikola Ćaćić.

Elsewhere, the weather has caused chaos with the schedulers in the United States, where Frances Tiafoe has reached the final.

Meanwhile, Roberto Carballes Baena won his second ATP Tour title, in Marrakech, overcoming Alexandre Muller in a battle which lasted more than three hours.
