In the book of Luke in the Bible, Jesus tells his disciples that Satan has asked to sift them, as one would sift wheat on a threshing room floor, to separate the good from the bad. Jesus then encourages his disciples by telling them that he has prayed for them that their faith would not fail.
Does God really allow sifting to take place in the lives of his followers? Some might say he doesn’t just allow it, he intentionally sifts us. Over the years does God really humble us, uh, sometimes even humiliate us as a way of refining us or teaching us an important lesson?
In the next 5 weeks, we’re going to be taking a look at ways that God shakes us out of our comfort zone, refines us and builds up the muscle of our faith for what might be coming just around the corner….
