David is overwhelmed by the grace that God has lavished upon a poor undeserving shepherd boy. God will not allow David to build Him a temple to dwell in, rather, God will build David a dynasty. As David looks back over his life, he is confronted by God's amazing grace and moved to praise. Believers ought to do the same today.
