As many of you know, I like to host intimate little house shows in my back yard each summer. This episode of the podcast is the recording of one of the sets from our most recent back yard gig.
This is a set by the show’s headliner, Australian avant-cellist Rob Knaggs. Rob was back in Manitoba for the first time in quite a while (hear him talk about going home to Oz on a previous interview podcast), and he played a deadly set in the light of day – just Rob on the deck with the cello and no visuals.
As mentioned in the intro, Rob’s set was considerably louder than the others I recorded that afternoon, so there’s a bit of clipping at times, but it doesn’t take away from the Arctic-inspired beauty of his compositions.
