To be pure in heart means to put your will toward one thing; to have one master and one desire. (This does not mean that you never want, but that nothing else controls your heart or mind – that you allow nothing to work in you against your greater desire.) We become pure when we seek God zealously, guarding our hearts, watching what we allow into our eyes and minds, and allowing trials to refine us instead of define us.
