Socialism with AMERICAN Characteristics (Or: How to Talk About Socialism with People Who *Think* They Hate Socialists)
What's up to my evenhanded egrets and unpretentious uguisus!
Welcome back to the BNP and thank you for joining! To my patrons, y'all are the fizz in my booch and the mango in my salsa, recognize!
In order to change someone's mind, you have to first find common ground. This creates a bond. Then, starting from that point of agreement and shared values, you can begin to gently and respectfully seed new ideas and concepts into minds that seem to be closed. No mind is ever truly closed. But yelling and judging has never changed a single mind. Humans need to come to their own realizations. The best we can do is facilitate organic realization by being kind, patient, respectful, and informed.
There are certain things nearly all Americans agree on: end the wars, break up the huge monopolies (cough cough Amazon, cough Google, ahem Microsoft), and Medicare for All. Let's come together around these shared goals and work from there.
It is in this spirit that we must ask an important and admittedly complicated question: what would socialism with American characteristics look like? We've heard about socialism with Chinese characteristics. But let's start the conversation: what would socialism actually look like in these United States?
Certain trees only grow in certain climates. So too, any socialist policies must adhere to, and harmonize with, the unique qualities and conditions of the culture within which they would take root.
This ep also unveils the physical and biological benefits of meditation, staying on the contemplation tip. And stay tuned to the end, because I felt it was important to feature a couple stories from independent media (Rebel News) that cover the other side of the story around the global movement for medical freedom and informed consent.
