Tonight I’m joined by Patrick and (fashionably) Survival Steve for a rollicking, free-ranging conversation that starts with Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Theory of Stupidity and courage in the face of conformity, and spirals delightfully through bravery awards, mass formation, government mind-control, natural law, and the perils of hierarchy. We weigh up whether modern institutions manufacture stupidity, share examples from medicine and the military, and nominate contemporary truth-tellers for a tongue‑in‑cheek “Bravery Award.” Along the way we touch on parallel societies, the Amish, ignoring government out of existence, and why objective morality must precede any fix to money or politics. There’s plenty of lively banter: Steve’s survival tips (including why a Sharpie and a bamboo toothbrush might save your life), sundials and stationary earth musings, Bigfoot rumours, and film nostalgia from Bond to Snake Plissken. We round off with plans for a gentlemanly debate on “Do we need government?” and a community poll to honour those who stand against the tide. Come for Bonhoeffer, stay for the laughs—and cast your vote on our Bravery Award shortlist!
