Ipswich rates up 5.5 per cent in $692.6m budget & councillors split on more than one issue

Ipswich City Council adopted its budget for 2023-2024 this week at a special meeting held on June 22. Ratepayers are in for 5.5 per cent increase from July 1. Mayor Teresa Harding joins the show to discuss the budget meeting and the ordinary meeting held later that same day. More than one contentious issue had councillors split when it came to the vote.
