We first published the story Fishing in the Fog of Covid-19, by Cathy Newman, online about a month ago. Today, we are publishing an audio version of the story, which is read by Jeanne Craig, a longtime editor in the boating and fishing world.
It tells the story of a woman who is so frustrated by not being able to fish her favorite waters that she assembled her travel rod in the alley beside her apartment and proceeded to cast into an asphalt river — and to dream.
We feel the story has a special power and poignancy when read aloud. We hope you enjoy it.
