And in some parts of the city, there are heated contests for local Council seats. Finally, on Friday, thousands of people took to the streets in Times Square and in Brooklyn, to protest the Israeli bombardment of Gaza that has followed that attack. But although law enforcement said it was ready for possible violence, those protests were peaceful. WNYC's Bahar Ostadan was at one of those protests.
