G’day to you all from around the world. Once again, the music beckons your attention and hopefully livens up your day. You know what to expect, sounds to please the ears and heart. Most of the artists you recognise here preview their new albums and tunes for the first time on Sequences. Just three newcomers: from Austria, Johannes Winkler's debut album ‘Vogelperspektive’, the former pilot takes us on a journey through soundscapes and ambient structures inspired by a legacy of airborne perspectives. The synth sisters Mareena & JakoJako, two talented musicians and friends, embark on a joyful voyage through sound, fully immersed in an all captivating wall of sound, and finally, a bit of a mystery, translated from Chinese, Cipher Zero, on a label of underground music based in China.
We dive straight into the second album by Holland Holmes on Spotted Peccary. Here we have a plethora of synthesizers ebb, flow, and surround each other like shifting tides in a sonic mix of Berlin School sequences, traditional melodic structures, and emotional chord progressions.
