There are many areas in our life that has limits on them because we are not teachable. The mind has unlimited capacity and it is like a parachute, it works when you open it. When you keep it closed you suffer tremendously. For instance, I hear many college graduates say, “I’ll never read another book again or write another paper.” What that’s doing is subconsciously putting a limit on their mental development. What about the things we say about our finances or career like “I’ll start saving for retirement later or I’m financially secure with a good job and salary.” We are setting ourselves up for failure because one stream of income is not security and nearly 80% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. We need to do better by opening up our minds and being teachable so we can continual to grow as individuals in all areas of our life. Every day I try to learn something new, it keeps my mind sharp and relevant. Be teachable.
