Jeff Tkach captivated me when I heard him speak about the direct impact our soil diversity has on human health. Then when he said we only have enough topsoil for 60 more growing seasons I knew we had to talk. Jeff is in a unique position to speak about it as the Chief Impact Officer for the Rodale Institute the birthplace of the term regenerative organic.
Robert Rodale, coined the term “regenerative organic” to distinguish a kind of farming that goes beyond sustainable. Regenerative organic agriculture not only maintains resources but improves them. With only about 60 years of topsoil remaining at current practices, nothing less will do.
There is so much to learn from Jeff that we will definitely have him on again but in this conversation you will learn why we need to pay attention to our soil and the answers to our looming catastrophe. Plus, so much more that the Rodale Institute has to offer including the first ever Regenerative Health Institute and how they transformed the plates of patients at a large local hospital.
As Chief Impact Officer, Jeff leads the development and execution of the Institute's core strategies, overseeing opportunities for partnership and co-investment that drive positive outcomes for Rodale's philanthropic and programmatic initiatives.
A Pennsylvania native, Tkach earned a degree in business marketing from Kutztown University and a post graduate "Authentic Leadership Certificate: from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. He regularly speaks at various industry organizations on behalf of Rodale Institute, in an effort to catalyze the human connection to regenerative organic agriculture and its ability to heal the world.
