Though secularized, the essential meaning of the Christmas tree is still one of life in terms of the Person and work of Jesus Christ.  It is decorated to represent the beauty of God's gracious gift. Fruits  were long used as decorations and represented bountiful blessings that  fulfilled men's basic needs.
