What are the biggest take ways that apply to our listeners today – you know – with low reimbursement, egregious audits, DIR fees, mail order, etc. What have you learned that will help pharmacy owners today?
Do something other than pharmacy and do it exceptionally well
Atmosphere, ambiance, looks matters
Most people won’t, but a few will pay
Have a “can do” attitude. Grit
Management matters
Have a noble purpose
Sell you staff
Delegate
Be flexible, try new things, fail forward
So what is a road trip – do you just get in your car and take off and drop in on pharmacies
Have an idea, theme
Get magazine to cover
Find a sponsor
Search for exceptional pharmacies
Not all pharmacies get to be those that work with the sponsor
Separated by about 200-300 miles, leap frog
Not doing the same thing – something special
Call to see if they will, a few won’t or can’t
Schedule the visit
Make travel arrangements
