1. The Cleveland Guardians got utterly dominated by Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros. There were some positives with Austin Hedges continuing to be surprisingly effective since the All-Star break. Steven Kwan continued to collect hits with his hitting streak hitting 16 games breaking his tie with Michael Brantley for the longest streak still a bit away from Benito Santiago's rookie record of 34 games.
2. We discuss some things that annoy me with prospect evaluations regarding wording and expectations. We also get into what the hardest to develop/biggest bust rate is of any position in all of baseball.
3. We dive into the underrated prospects in this system. Tanner Bibee is a name everyone should know, and the gap between him and Gavin Williams is smaller than between him and Logan Allen. We also talk about Nic Enright who might be the top reliever in the minors. Jack Leftwich has some of the best numbers in the system. Davis Sharpe, another recent draft pick who is finding a lot of success in the Guardians system. As well as Cade Smith the former undrafted pitcher has the highest strikeout per nine in the Guardians system. The last pitcher we focus on is Joey Cantillo who might be the fifth best starting pitching prospect in the Guardians organization and one who likely is only still part of the organization due to there being no Rule 5 draft.
