Hello TIPS listeners! In this episode Ashlie and Gilbert sit down with Aubrey Redinger, a clinical counselor and former founding member of the Townsend Institute team. Aubrey specializes in perinatal mental health and talks with TIPS about how conversations around motherhood and mental health are changing. She also shares what led her to focus on mental health for moms, drawing on her personal experience with postpartum mental health. Noting that it often takes about two years for moms to feel more like themselves, she shares the immense mental load new moms bear, fighting isolation, and the struggles of balancing work and family, reminding us all that taking care of mom is taking care of baby.
