The story of Joseph is one of love, hatred, human trafficking, deception, grief, and ultimately—victory! Have you ever felt that things were definitely not working in your favor and that you couldn’t even depend on your family? That was Joseph. Joseph was loved by his father and hated by his brothers who deceived their father Jacob, by suggesting that Joseph had been killed by a wild animal, when in truth, he had been sold to traders on their way to Egypt. However, God had an ultimate plan for Joseph’s life that no one could circumvent—no matter how hard they tried. Joseph’s years in Egypt had its ups and downs and through it all, he didn’t lose faith. He rose to prominence in Egypt and eventually faced his brothers again. They were afraid that he would seek revenge but he reassured them in Genesis 50:19-20: “But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Remember that God has a plan for your life although you might not understand why certain things happen. Don't lose faith. Believe that God has the ultimate plan.
