John Philbin - The Actor Who Surfed Turning into the Surfer Who Acts
John Philbin has been in some of my favorite movies of all time. Return of the Living Dead, Point Break, Tombstone and of course The North Shore.
Getting to talk to someone I’ve seen a thousand times in movies is surreal.
I tried my hardes not to quote each of my favorite scenes from his roles.
The moment we started talking, John was candid on how he went from the actor who surfed to the surfer who now occasionally acts.
His passion for surfing his evident when we talk about the exotic locations he has surfed and the amazing people he has met along the way.
John wasn’t quite sure what we were going to talk about as he does not train or fight. But we jumped right in and talked as if we have been friends for 20 years.
I guess being two surfers who love to share our passion with others is our commonality.
