FM4 Interview with the Vice-Chair of the IPCC, Diana Ürge-Vorsatz
At the UN-Climate Conference, the COP 28 in Dubai, the most important climate topics and problems of our time are currently being discussed. An important part of this discussion is the work of the IPCC – The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. This so called Weltklimarat was initiated in 1998 by the UN. It regularly publishes reports on the state of the world’s climate and keeps warning about the impacts and future risks of climate change.
Recently, the IPCC elected a new board. One of the new three vice-chairs is the Central European University professor Diana Ürge-Vorsatz. Nina Hochrainer talked to her about the work of the IPCC, her expectations for the COP28 and whether there is still hope in the fight against climate change.
