"Beholding the Glory of Christ, Pt. 1"

2 Corinthians 3:14-18 ESV

How do we grow spiritually? How do we have everlasting joy? It's by exposing ourselves to God's glory. His glory--his nature and greatness-- is revealed through Jesus. The believer's greatest need, therefore, is to see, experience, know, and enjoy his glory, because it is THE mechanism of change in our lives. In 2 Corinthians, Paul teaches the church that, although mankind is lost, and God's glory is veiled in darkness (Vs. 14-15), he reveals his glory through and within Jesus. Knowing Jesus, and by extension, the glory of God through him, our lives will be transformed (Vs. 18). How can we practice this in a practical way? Meditate on God's word, immerse ourselves in prayer, fellowship with other believers, listen to the teaching of his Word.

16 But when one[a] turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord[b] is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord,[c] are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.[d] For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
