Psalm 88 is one of the darkest of all the Psalms. Heman, the author, is calling God out and not sparing his words. He is angry, he is upset, he is confused, but most of all, he is deeply discouraged because God is silent. It is challenging to find some redeeming lessons from this Psalm, but if we examine it closely, we will learn about ourselves and God.
