1. Everyone is freaking out about a quiet start to the post-lockout. I know people wanted Jesse Winkler or Matt Olson. I explain why neither of them was ever a possibility for the Guardians and what their approach has always been. If one wants a team that dives into things and feels unstable the Browns are right there.
2. We talk about some of the other great players who are out there and why it is that the Guardians are more likely to make a trade than sign a player. The roster is so packed the Guardians did something they never do this week and I explain why that matters. In terms of names to watch there is still Ramon Laureano, Austin Meadows, Kyle Lewis, Matt Chapman, and Sean Murphy along with a dozen more.
3. We end with looking at some college power bats who just so happen to be facing each other this weekend. Luke Franzoni is an outfielder from Xavier who is third in the nation in home runs. He is also the youngest senior in the country younger than some sophomores out there. Matthew Ellis is a power-hitting catcher from Indiana who was also young for his draft class and has been highly productive now that he is getting a chance to play division one baseball.
