On Sunday September 1st, Los Angeles Football Club (19-5-4) lost its first league home match of 2019 against western conference foe Minnesota United (13-6-9). It is just the fifth time that LAFC have lost at Banc of California Stadium across all competitions (including the pre and postseason) since opening its doors in April 2018.
Team captain Carlos Vela, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury suffered against the Galaxy, did not dress for the match against Minnesota. The loss may have ended LAFC's undefeated stretch at home this season, but the black and gold have a chance to get back on track this weekend in Orlando against the Lions.
Ryan Wallerson of the Southern California News Group (Daily News) & Alex Dwyer of MLSsoccer.com break down LAFC's performance against Minnesota, how the latest round of international duty will impact the team's east coast road trip, and preview Saturday's away match against Orlando City SC (9-7-13).
