I pull no punches and talk about why canceling the draft would hurt teams, players, and agents all to save billionaire owners a little bit of money. The story that broke had bad numbers and misinformation in it, and even if the numbers were true the average team would save under 15 million if the draft was canceled. This would save the owners a little bit of money. It would cause agents to lose livelihood. It would cause players from rough backgrounds to lose a chance at earning. It would make it easier to get rid of minor league teams. It would take money from the poor of baseball, so the super rich could keep a bigger share.
