Faith-based groups have long been celebrated for their work feeding the hungry, housing the homeless and aiding refugees. The recent freeze of USAID has led to significant budget cuts, leaving many organizations in crisis. Michael Cerna joins Today’s Conversation to discuss the vital role of faith-based groups and how the Church is responding to the growing needs.

With vital programs now at risk, the freeze threatens not only critical humanitarian aid but the livelihoods of countless individuals. NAE President Walter Kim and Michael Cerna, CEO of Accord Network, discuss how faith offers a firm foundation despite challenges to continue the work of compassion and healing.

You’ll also hear them discuss:

  • The role of government in saving lives of non-citizens;
  • Why some faith-based organizations accept government funding while others don’t;
  • The Scriptural underpinnings for faith and government collaboration; and
  • How Jesus’ example of steadfastness in the face of adversity inspires hope in difficult times.
