Special: Mendocino Latinx Alliance Panel on Racial Relations Among Latino and Native American Populations in California
November 29, 2021--Mendocino Latinx Alliance's November Virtual Meeting featured a panel discussion on the Historical Context of Racial Relations Among Latino and Native American Populations in California. The two panelists were Professor V, an adjunct professor of ethnic studies at San Francisco State, who is also a musician and producer. And Dioganhdih, a hip-hop artist and producer. Professor V (born in Guanajuato, Mexico) and Dioganhdih (Mohawk) collaborate on music together.
This presentation is the first of a three-part series where MLA will host a race exploration dialog. The purpose is to: (1) examine the progression of race dynamics and what that looks like in our own community, (2) to open dialog and (3) to celebrate the strength and richness of Latino and Native American cultures in Mendocino County.
