My guest for today is a successful trumpeter who had to overcome many challenges to succeed in his career. Mark Crowney is a trumpeter for the British dance group Rudimental. He started his career when he was ten and became a high school music teacher before continuing his personal artistic journey. The growth was gradual, and he had to overcome personal doubts to thrive and reach his level.
In this episode, Crowney shares how he started his music career, his first break as a trumpeter and how it changed his life, how he manages his physical and mental health while on tour, and the impacts of high life on artists. Crowney also talks about the doubting moments of his career and how he overcame them and advises young artists on how to turn things quicker.
Crowney reminds us that being good at what you are as an artist takes time, and it is not something you can do on the side while working a 9-5 job. If you want to be successful and make money from your art, you must put in the time and effort to become good at it.
