Ep. 79: Atarah Styles - How The Plus Size STYLEmother Helps Full Figured CEOs Align Their Closets With Their Coins + Confidence
Today on the Friends in Beauty Podcast I welcome my #FriendinBeauty Atarah to the Friends in Beauty guest chair.
Atarah got her start in the beauty/fashion industry over 12 years ago at her alma mater, Coppin State University. After receiving numerous compliments from her peers on campus about her makeup, the thought of doing makeup on others began to cross her mind.
So, in January 2009, she launched her makeup business! She has since had the honor of teaching/mentoring other aspiring and seasoned artists who sit where she once sat, as well as serving hundreds of women, men, and Brides.
But, then a PIVOT happened:
It was March 2020 and the pandemic had us shut down. We all know how that was THEN, a few short weeks later, in April 2020, her mom unexpectedly passed away and she began to question everything. And, it was then she knew she didn’t want to waste ANYMORE time. She wanted to go for everything that was hers.
While everyone else was becoming more relaxed in their clothing options during quarantine, Atarah slowly discovered, what helped her grief process was being able to get dressed up! STYLE is what has helped to HEAL her. And, now she uses STYLE to heal others.
In December 2020, she officially launched “Atarah Styles,” her current venture as a plus-size wardrobe stylist and image concierge. And, in March 2021, a year after the pandemic hit, she went ALL in and decided to slowly put down her brushes and QUICKLY pick up her hangers! And it has been a beautiful yet blessed transition.
