SickLife are a hardcore band based out of Long Island, NY. I’m very happy to have Tim (vocals) and Denney (guitars) as my guests tonight, as we discuss their history, influences and future goals.
The last 15 months have been a tumultuous time for musicians, and a testament to all the bands that have stuck it out, stayed creative and focused, and stayed hungry for long-term success. SickLife counts as one of them. One of the few bands from their scene that is over-flooded with cover bands, top 40 bands, tribute bands and wedding bands, SickLife stays true to their original, guitar-groove-based, melodic metal-influenced hardcore that hits you straight in the face and never apologizes for it. In a scene where venues and promoters only book you if you draw a house, or expect you to pay to play to have an opportunity to open for a national act, SickLife maintains their integrity by not allowing venues and promoters to determine their value, and let the music do the talking. And that’s what matters.
