Sweet Dominican Jesus, have we got a treat for you! On today's very special episode of Songmess we are joined by none other than the trailblazing, genre-fusing Dominican trio known as Mula.
Formed by twin sisters Anabel and Cristabel Acevedo - formerly of folk duo Las Acevedo - and beat-making whizkid Rachel Rojas, Mula is one of the most exciting acts exploding out of the Dominican Republic's diverse indie scene. Today's episode is a long-time coming since we have professed our love for Mula and their music countless times on this show. We discuss the band's genesis, the joys of indie friendships, and the challenges women artists face when making music in a male-dominated industry.
Mula are sweet and humble and their music continues to break barriers of sound, identity and tradition. If you are not a fan yet, this is your chance to hop on the Mula train!
Featured Artists: Mula, Las Acevedo, La Insuperable, CATNAPP, Jessy Bulbo, Ela Minus, and Rubio.
