All saints have their conversion stories, when they cast aside the riches of this world for higher glory. For Saint Paul, it was the road to Damascus. For Saint Peter, it was on the shores of Galilee. For today’s saint, Ignatius of Loyola, it was the Battle of Pamplona in 1521, when a cannonball shattered his leg. Soon, he left his vain ways and military career, to become a soldier for Christ on the spiritual battleground.
