We interview Laura Hayes, who works for World Central Kitchen, the organization founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés to provide meals in the wake of the earthquake in Haiti and soon expanded to cover natural disasters globally. Since then, WCK has served over 250 million meals around the world, including 200 million in Ukraine, arriving there Feb. 24, 2022. They served 15,000 meals in nearby Fort Myers after Hurricane Ian devastated the area. Presently, they are also feeding earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, where over 50,000 people have died.
Laura also talks about what she accomplished in her previous jobs prior to coming to WCK, including journalism awards she's won along the way. Read some of her articles here.
Listen to learn how Laura along with the entire WCK team have made a difference in the lives of millions of people.
