“Gangs, Drugs & Violence” James Dildy and Eugene Boone are friends from school but they both abused drugs, participated in criminal activity and went to jail. James started with abusing alcohol after his then girlfriend committed suicide. Due to her untimely death he began to spiral out of control which lead him into smoking a “banger” which is blunt with crack cocaine. He used drugs for about 13 years on and off. Eugene began to use drugs while in high school before graduating he had 3 kids and his own apartment. Trying to provide for his family he began to sell drugs which later he began to use drugs from crack cocaine to herion. Over the years Eugene was involved in gang activity fast forward he is no longer active and has since been “respected out”. Doing time in jail and several felled attempts of getting cleaned for others such as his kids or girlfriends he kept using drugs. Both young men were honest, forthcoming and very transparent about some of the things they have been through. While they both used drugs they only got high together once. Moral of the story in order to get clean you have to want it for yourself. You have to be honest and willing to put in the work. You may have to change your people, places and things. Some may need counseling or rehab. Eugene overdosed and was in a coma for seven days meanwhile; the doctor told his family that he had a 25% chance of making it. Hopefully through their life story they maybe able to save someone else’s life.
