In this week's episode of Aligned & Ambitious Radio, I’m going to share the stage with Katie Ferro. Together, we’re going to talk about the importance of knowing your numbers in your business.

“So we're here today to share with you guys the importance of knowing your numbers, which I always like to put a spin on, it is more empowering when you know your numbers. It helps you grow your numbers. It is true. It's so simple and  I compare it a lot to like, weight loss.”

Throughout the episode, we’ll cover topics that revolve around or have something to do with numbers in your business. Our goal is to ultimately empower everyone to be comfortable in checking in with these numbers in order to:

  • Be extremely motivated to see what’s actually working in their business and
  • Enable everyone to adjust accordingly if you don’t like what you see and do less of the things that don’t work.

Dealing with numbers is something that many of us have found to be challenging, scary even,  ever since our school years and maybe even more so now (although in a different context) being entrepreneurs and proud owners of our own businesses.

One thing that we would like to highlight is, having good numbers isn’t all about sales. It’s really what you’re able to keep which is the profit. It is what allows us to do the things that we want to do. Every single life-changing thing that we’re working towards is brought forth by profit, not sales.

So don’t be afraid to look into those numbers involving your business, it really is no different than the fear that you feel when looking at your scale. Even though your business may currently feel good because you’re making a lot of sales, I encourage you to take a look at the actual distribution of your numbers.  How much is being re-invested in your business, what are your losses, what is your actual profit?

It wouldn’t hurt to seek the help of a professional too. Working with an expert in this field will only work wonders for your company in the long run, the way my book-keeper, turned really good friend, did in mine.
