The school suddenly exploded. What happened?

It was the 1930’s. The world was in the grip of the Great Depression. In the years to follow, much would be written about this turbulent time in history, in both fiction and non-fiction. Classics such as the Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men, would capture the era. But during that same time, one community in the state of Texas, experienced the worst school disaster in US history. Yet today, it has largely been forgotten.
