Goals can be very frustrating, because a lot of times they don't work out. So wouldn't it be cool to figure out how to set goals that you actually DO achieve, without just lowering the bar until you get there? (That would be the worst thing you could do by the way)
Well here's what I've noticed, and this is by no means an original idea of my own.
I've had mentors tell me over and over again that I need to be setting more specific goals... and if you're me... that's hard.
At this point though, I have to admit that they are right.
Of the few targets that I have hit, they have all been targets that were very specific, and since they were specific, it was much easier to find the path to those goals, and to then actually hit my targets.
So if your goals are not specific already.. make them specific. It is the best thing you can do to actually start hitting them.
And DO NOT lower them. If you start lowering your goals in order to achieve specificity... it's probably a testament to what you think you're really capable of.
