Happy October and welcome to our Spooky Season discussion of the HBO series Lovecraft Country, based on the novel of the same name. In part 1, as usual, we give you an overview of the topics we plan to explore in-depth in the coming weeks. A few of those topics are:
- The psychology of fear and why we like horror
- The horror genre as a medium to comment on race and racism
- "Death of the Author," and how we can reconcile and transform the artistic works of terrible people
We also want to bring a little levity so Erin will definitely be geeking out over the creature effects as Rhonda fangirls over the historical costuming. We hope this will be a great time!
