May 31, 2022--30 years ago this month, in May of 1992, the community of Albion rose up against LP corporation’s logging of the Enchanted Meadow along the Albion River. For nine weeks, hundreds of people nonviolently protested at logging gates, sat in trees, locked down to heavy equipment, got arrested, packed courtrooms, and eventually stopped the cut. In the middle of the Uprising, timber worker Ernie Pardini spoke out against LP’s liquidation logging, and called for change. KZYX commemorates the 30th Anniversary Albion Uprising, with an archive of Judi Bari’s historic KZYX interview with Ernie Pardini, a milestone in the Timber Wars in Mendocino County.
