We led the show off with Dr Lisa Young, author of the Portion Teller and the Portion Teller Plan.

Dr Young is a nationally recognized nutrition consultant and faculty member at New York University. Nicci talked about an important article in her magazine titled "10 Steps to Heart Health" She says that you can change your fate just by Eating Well.

Evelyn Tribole, MS, RD, is an award-winning dietitian with a counseling practice in Irvine, California, where she helps clients create a healthy relationship with food, mind and body.  She was the nutrition expert for Good Morning America and qualified for the 1984 Olympic trials in the women's marathon. Although she no longer competes, she runs for fun and fitness. Evelyn had some great tips like eat like a food critic...taste each bite and slowly enjoy it. There were lots more tips

Intuitive eating is an approach that teaches you how to create a healthy relationship with your food, mind, and body--where you ultimately become the expert of your own body.   You learn how  to distinguish between physical and emotional feelings, and gain a sense of body wisdom.   It's also a process of making peace with food---so that you no longer have constant "food worry" thoughts.  It's knowing that your health and your worth as a person does not change because you ate a so-called "bad" or "fattening" food.  On the surface this may sound simplistic, but it is rather complex. For example one of the basic principles of Intuitive Eating is the ability to respond to inner body cues, “Eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full?, which may sound  like a no-brainer. But when you have history of chronic dieting  or rigid “healthy? rules about eating it's quite difficult because a number of things need to be in place, including the ability to trust yourself! Amazingly the Fat Guy is being followed by over 3 dozen people who are interested in what he eats each day. Who would have thought?  Anyone can follow the Fat Guy's eating exploits on Twitter.  Food journals are great ways to lose weight and the Fat Guy is always trying anything in order to lose those last 20 pounds. So take a peek into his food diary. You never know what he'll write. Somehow he can stay compliant to writing on Twitter but he can't fit in exercise each day. That's right, moments after he eats something the Fat Guy Twitters about it and you can follow him so that one day if you try real hard you too can look like the Fat Guy.
