Education is Public Health - The Importance of Public Schools

There is a strong connection between educational attainment and health outcomes. Although our education system has faults and flaws, public school is nonetheless an earnest effort to provide everyone with education and future opportunities. In addition, public school is not just a school, but often times a resource for the students, the family, and the community surrounding it.  So why do some people want to undermine our already strained system?
