Pat is a former Navy Seal, and during his service, he saw how human performance went beyond the physical body and the critical role mental states played in determining people’s resilience through strenuous challenges like Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL training.
The idea for their company came about on a surf trip w/ his good friend and co-founder, Blake Mycoskie, who previously founded Tom’s Shoes and is very passionate about personal development. Early on they brought on Andrew Huberman, a neuroscientist and tenured professor in the Department of Neurobiology at Stanford, to lead their Scientific Advisory board.
