Landed is a real estate technology company with an interesting model and beautiful mission: They are making home ownership more affordable for essential professionals. 

More specifically, they help education, healthcare, and public sector employees buy homes by providing access to funds, trusted partners and guidance.

They have a unique shared appreciation down payment program or coinvestment in a home since they’ve found that many essential professionals are able to afford the monthly payment on a standard mortgage loan but that saving upwards of 20% of the down payment with an expensive cost of living can be nearly impossible.

This program is designed to help these individuals and their families reach at least a 20% down payment, and avoid private mortgage insurance (PMI). In many of their eligible areas, Landed can contribute up to $150k of the purchase price towards the down payment, which brings the homebuyer’s contribution to at least 5%.
