Complete transparency, even if we weren't embracing a (rightful) revolution and reckoning, and championing #BLM, I still would've had Imani Lateef, of Peep Game Comix, on the show, and same with Mr. Reggie Williams, the Executive Director of the Frederick Douglass Community Association.
I love that these things are in our community.
My friend Emma Henderson from WTOL highlighted Mr. Williams a few weeks back and I invited him on to share all the great things the FDCA is doing for those in need, and how YOU can help THEM.
Also, Frederick Douglass is a quiet passion of mine! Lincoln is one of my favorite historical figures, and for a long time Douglass needled him to do more for African Americans during his Presidency. Basically, he publicly trolled and shamed Lincoln into doing what was the right thing...freeing slaves and embracing more racial equality (which we sadly still haven't achieved).
