Plays, musicals and immersive theatre can all be powerful ways to engage audiences, tell stories and change narratives, and in Singapore, we've strived to build such cultural capital through our theatre scene. Join us and THREE special guests from the scene to discuss various aspects of Singapore theatre, including its evolution from traditional forms, its interaction with the Singapore identity and its resilience despite censorship, capital constraints and COVID-19. Our three guests today include:

  • Euginia Tan, who is a Singaporean writer who writes poetry, creative non-fiction and plays.  Her play-writing credits include Tuition (Twenty Something Theatre Festival), Modest Travels (produced by Tan Kheng Hua for Uniqlo) and Fortunes (The Necessary Stage, Playwrights’ Cove).
  • A Yagnya is a collaborative theatre-maker and Japanese translator. Yagnya’s playwrighting credits include Between 5 Cows and the Deep Blue Sea...(read at Esplanade’s Raga 2020), The Oven Storyஅவன் கதை (3Pumpkins, 2020), Hi, Can You Hear Me?
