After God expelled Adam and Eve from the perfect garden, the earth’s population grew and as it grew, the hearts of humans were such a disappointment that “The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” Genesis 6:6-7. God brought a flood upon the earth that destroyed every living thing, only saving Noah and his family along with the animals he brought into the ark. The second chapter of The Story picks up with God telling Abram (who was from the line of Noah’s son, Shem) to leave his familiar country to go to another land—promising that he would make him a great nation even before Abram had his first child. At this time, Abram and his wife were what we would consider senior citizens when God promised an heir. Abram was 100 and his wife was 90. They, of course, scoffed at the very idea, but God is not to be taken lightly! Listen to the rest of the story...
