How is it that we often find ourselves heading in the opposite direction of God? We are stubborn. In the story of the Israelites asking for a king, we see this reality. The stubbornness of Samuel is shown through his mishandled leadership. And the stubbornness of Israel is demonstrated in their continual search for provision outside of God and inability to heed wisdom.
