We've featured a lot of dark sounds on the show lately so for today's very special episode of Songmess, guest Carla Rivarola has curated a list of sunny guitar-driven rock and pop songs that will lift your spirits and your bum out of your seat.

Carla Rivarola is a gifted guitarist and songwriter from Mexico City and an inspiring poster child for the rewards of hard work, (those guitar skills don't come for free). From her studies in classical composition to the fluctuating language of her songwriting, Carla's process is one of honesty and constant self reflection.

Carla comes from a highly musical family and has roots in Argentina which has allowed her to explore a wide array of perspectives and influences, making international friends an allies along the way. Her first project, Iranti, found her in English folk pop territory while her most recent releases under her legal name have taken a more prog rock direction.

This episode is all about Carla's soothing energy, artistic fearlessness and killer guitar shredding, so buckle up and enjoy the melodic ride.

Featured artists: Carla Rivarola, Iranti, Sus Hijas, Eruca Sativa, Descartes a Kant, Camila Moreno, Chini and The Technicians, (Me Llamo) Sebastián, Torreblanca, Foeme and Valentin y Los Volcanes.
